Hey, I’m Rocio. I’m a writer, an artist, a "content creator", a peer coach, an "activist", and a person trying really hard to live authentically. Here on Medium, I share personal essays, political reflections, poetry, and sometimes rants more than anything else. My writing dives into the things that matter most to me—social justice, faith, growth, healing, and the complex intersection of all these parts of who I am.

I write about my experiences with trauma, faith, self-discovery, and my journey toward healing—often messy, sometimes weirdly obsessive, but always introspective. I also, and probably mostly, write about politics. I am an inmigrant. I am brown. I am a woman. I have various neurodivergencies... I am a mom, a caretaker, and I live in this world so I care, a LOT. I am not always soft in my messaging but I am always precise. I just need to get some things out of my mind! I also write poetry. It is harder to describe this because I am writing as I feel it and I care more about what I am saying than making sure it rhymes or hits certain standards to be "poetry"; call it prose if it makes you feel better!

Beyond Medium, I work as a self-help peer coach and advocate for personal growth, mental health, and social justice. I’ve spent a lot of time unlearning harmful systems—both in my body and mind—and trying to build a life that reflects my true values. When I’m not writing, I’m creating artwork, resources, and guides to help others navigate their own paths of growth... or I'm chasing my kid around the house trying to get them to chill out without stepping out of my gentle-parenting principles.

I share a lot more writing that is personal or educational on my website iamrociobflores.com and on social media but I want to keep Medium as a place where what matters is the writing itself. I am definitely a novice but I really like this artform and I care a lot about sharing it. I hope you like it!
